American Plum - Prunus americana

American plum has a rapid growth rate with a mature height of 10-15 feet. It is winter hardy and thicket-forming. It can grow in a variety of soil types, likes full sun to partial shade, and is somewhat drought tolerant. White flowers bloom in mid spring and 1-inch wide fruit ripens to yellow or red in September.
