Rudbeckia hirta. Black-eyed Susan prefers dry to dry mesic soils, with full to partial sun. This plant will grow to a medium height and blooms in the summer with a yellow flower, with a dark center. Black Eyed Susan is popular flower that is an early successional prairie species, and commonly found in young planting areas. Black-eyed Susan pairs well with Indian Grass, Common Milkweed, and Wild Bergamot.
