Fireside Apple - Malus 'Fireside'

Seedling Height: 3-5'

Vigorous weeping tree form. Has very large fruit with a sweet flavor and fine-grained flesh good for fresh eating, salad, and baked apples. Fruit ripen in abundance in mid October. Forest green foliage turning yellow in fall. Showy clusters of lightly scented white flowers with pink undertones. Semi-dwarfing rootstock used, which reduces the mature size and usually produces fruit in 4-5 years. Do not plant where previous apple trees have been planted. Do not plant in low areas where frost settles. Do not fertilize the first years. In subsequent years, none needed if annual growth is: 18-24" on young trees, 10-12" on mature trees.
