Haralson Apple - Malus 'Haralson'

Seedling Height: 3 - 5 ft

Rounded tree form, extremely hardy and fire blight resistant. Fruit is very crisp and juicy with a distinctive tart flavor. Good baking, eating and cider apple. Partially red stripes and splashes, may become fully red over a yellow base. Fruit ripen in abundance in mid fall (September to early October). Keeps well from September to March. Forest green foliage turning yellow in fall. Showy clusters of lightly scented white flowers. Semi-dwarfing rootstock uses, which reduces the mature size and usually produces fruit in 4-5 years. Do not plant where previous apple trees have been planted. Do not plant in low areas where frost settles. Do not fertilize the first years. In subsequent years, none needed if annual growth is: 18-24" on young trees, 10-12" on mature trees.
